Jill Johanson has been appointed as the new director of science for the North Babylon College District. Her appointment is efficient from September 26.
Johanson brings a wealth of expertise to the part, obtaining previously worked as the K-12 coordinator of science and technologies at Syosset Public Schools considering that September 2022, and as the K-12 science director at Commack Public Schools from October 2020 to September 2022. Prior to that, she has held many positions in the educational field, like science teacher and chairperson in other Extended Island college districts, beginning from the year 2000.
Johanson holds an impressive educational background, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and biology from Bucknell University. She has also obtained a Master of Arts degree in secondary college science education from Columbia University’s Teachers College. Moreover, she has certifications in college constructing leader and college district leader from the College of Saint Rose.
Expressing her excitement about joining the North Babylon household, Johanson stated, “I am thrilled to be joining the North Babylon household and I appear forward to supporting all of the district’s students, their households, and our teachers for quite a few years to come.”
