Patient Care Technicians in Columbiana County Earn National Certification Amid Growing Demand

The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center Health Academy program has recently announced the certification of a group of Patient Care Technicians through the National Healthcareer Association. Patient Care Technicians play a vital role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals, performing tasks such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, collecting specimens, and offering support to patients and their families.

The students who earned national certification as Patient Care Technicians include Lexi Kelly, Kyrstin Reckner, Emma Julian, Abbie Passmore, Peyton Swanson, Alee Keyes, Megan Moore, Kamryn Martin, Alissa Frantz, Ariana Gonzalez, Cheyenne Schwartz, and Marah Morris. These students have completed extensive training and have demonstrated proficiency in their duties.

Pam Dawson, RN and Health Academy Instructor commended the students for their dedication and success in earning this certification. She emphasized the competitive advantage that comes with national certification whether the students choose to enter the workforce or pursue higher education. She is proud of the students’ accomplishments and looks forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in the future.
