Chiefs’ wide receiver Rashee Rice involved in car accident, promising to cooperate with Dallas authorities as NFL closely follows the situation

On Saturday, a six-vehicle car crash occurred in Dallas that prompted police to search for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. The incident involved a vehicle believed to be registered or leased to Rice and took place at 6:20 p.m. local time. While the police report lists Rice as the suspected driver of the Corvette, it is unclear if he was present at the scene or if he will face charges related to the crash.

Dallas police revealed that the crash was caused by speeding drivers in a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini in the far left lane. The Lamborghini hit the center median wall, triggering a chain reaction collision with four other vehicles. Two drivers at the crash site received medical attention for minor injuries, while two others were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

According to CBS Sports HQ senior NFL insider Josina Anderson, Rice has hired a lawyer whose statement expresses his cooperation with local authorities and commitment to handling the situation responsibly. The NFL has confirmed they are monitoring the situation closely. Rice is from Texas and played college football in Dallas at SMU before being drafted by the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL Draft and having an impressive performance last season.
