Ukraine is implicated in the Moscow attack, confirms the Russian Security Council

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev stated on Tuesday that Ukraine was responsible for the attack on a concert hall in Moscow last Friday, where four armed men killed around 140 people. When asked by the press whether Ukraine or the Islamic State was behind the attack, Patrushev responded firmly that it was Ukraine. Patrushev, who is second in command at the Security Council after Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vice President Dmitri Medvedev, did not provide further details to support his claim.

Patrushev is a strong supporter of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and believes that the conflict is not a war but rather an attempt by the West to antagonize Moscow and Kyiv. His statements came shortly after Putin acknowledged that the attack was carried out by “radical Islamists” but also suggested that Ukraine may be linked to the attack. Putin expressed interest in knowing who ordered the attack.

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has raised tensions in the region and led to accusations and blame from both sides. It remains to be seen how the situation will unfold as investigations continue. The concert hall in Moscow was the site of a terrorist attack carried out by four armed individuals on Friday, resulting in the deaths of at least 139 people according to Russian authorities. A total of eleven people were arrested in connection with the attack.
