Saints head coach Dennis Allen has announced that receiver Michael Thomas may be out for some time due to a knee injury. This season, Thomas has caught 39 passes for 448 yards and a touchdown in just 10 games, which is a setback for the team. To replace Thomas, the Saints have signed cornerback Cameron Dantzler to the 53-man roster from their practice squad. Dantzler has played in two games this season, primarily on special teams.

In response to Thomas’ absence, the Saints have re-signed Marquez Callaway to the practice squad. Callaway spent the offseason and training camp with former head coach Sean Payton on the Broncos but was waived at the start of the regular season. He then signed with Las Vegas’ practice squad but was released from the unit in October. Callaway has played in 42 games with 17 starts from 2020-2022, catching 83 passes for 1,069 yards and seven touchdowns for the Saints. Last season, he had 16 receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown in just nine games.
