Encouraging Local LGBTQ-Owned and Allied Businesses to Apply for Community Impact Grants

In collaboration with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and the Grubhub Community Fund, the San Antonio LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce is offering assistance grants to LGBTQ-owned and allied restaurants, cafes, and bars that serve food. These grants can range from $5,000 to $25,000 and can be used for various purposes such as supporting employee wages, upgrading infrastructure, and marketing efforts.

This partnership marks the third year that the San Antonio LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce has collaborated with NGLCC and the Grubhub Community Fund. The Executive Director of the Chamber, Luis Vazquez, emphasized the importance of LGBTQ+ businesses in the US economy and their commitment to creating a more inclusive economic landscape for LGBTQ+ owned and allied businesses.

While a partnership with NGLCC or Grubhub is not required to apply for the grants, there are eligibility requirements that businesses must meet. These include being LGBTQ+ owned or ally-owned, providing proof of ownership, and not having received two or more NGLCC Community Impact Grants in previous years.

Business owners can apply for the grants until June 4th. More information about the application process can be found on the Chamber’s website. This initiative aims to provide equitable access and economic opportunities for LGBTQ+ and allied businesses in the San Antonio area.
