The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the village of Saranac Lake have announced that the annual Lighted Fire Truck Parade and Tree Lighting will be returning on Friday, December 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event kicks off with a parade featuring area fire departments, who come together in the spirit of unity and collaboration. The parade route takes fire trucks from Broadway to Main Street, with Santa Claus making a special appearance.

Following the parade, a tree lighting ceremony will take place in Berkeley Green from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., where Santa will light the tree and everyone is invited to join in a festive holiday sing-along with Northern Lights Choir. Warm cookies and hot cocoa will be available next to the bonfire.

Kids will have an opportunity to visit Santa from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m at the Saranac Lake Free Library, where they can share their wish-lists with him and capture the moment with a photo.

At 7:30 pm, a tree lighting ceremony will take place in Riverside Park featuring a 40-foot tree donated by Moody Tree Farm that will be illuminated by local organizations such as Women’s Civic Chamber, Saranac Lake Free Library, Adirondack Health, and Northern Lights Choir who have made this event possible through their support and collaboration
