A new exhibit from Emory University researchers and Atlanta creatives explores how the systems framing our planet impact our neighborhoods, economy and even our ideas of ourselves.
What is taking place: On Saturday, Science Gallery Atlanta opens the doors to JUSTICE, its most current seasonal exhibition in Pullman Rail Yards of functions bridging the arts and sciences.
Facts: JUSTICE options functions about transportation access, meals justice and how government choices can make or destroy complete neighborhoods.
- These visual commentaries incorporate a detailed photo-and-archival documents history lesson on Lightning, a neighborhood razed to make the Georgia Dome, and an actual MARTA bus covered in a vivid mural.
What they are saying: “For a lot of our power, we’re speaking about injustice⦠and we’re attempting to locate methods to repair the trauma,” interim director Floyd Hall told Axios.
- “Hopefully we’re providing folks the space to envision, properly, what does justice really appear like” and envision the planet they want to see.
Of note: Atlanta is the only U.S. member in the Science Gallery International network of universities positioned in cities with powerful larger education and arts communities.
What is subsequent: The exhibit runs till Sept. 30 and will function other programming more than the months. Reserve tickets or check out Pullman Rail Yards.
