Calling all public plant science programs: Let us highlight the impact of your work!

Seed World Canada is currently on the lookout for innovative plant breeding programs that are making significant strides in the Canadian seed sector. With the upcoming Public Sector Plant Science Showcase, Seed World Canada aims to highlight creative thinking, technological advancements, and groundbreaking research that are driving the industry forward.

To be recognized in Seed World Canada’s July issue, submit your research program and describe how it is contributing to advancing the seed sector in 200 words. All qualifying submissions will be acknowledged as Seed World Canada celebrates the diverse work being done in plant science and breeding across Canada. However, only the Top 3 winners will be selected based on their novelty of research, impact on sustainability, and scientific innovation criteria.

The novelty of research criterion evaluates work that introduces new concepts or technologies to the market, distinguishing it from competitors. Impact on sustainability assesses how research positively impacts the environment and supports sustainable farming practices while reducing agriculture’s carbon footprint. Scientific innovation reviews cutting-edge research and development of a program’s significant impact on agriculture, such as creating new plant traits or improving crop yield.

The Top 3 winners will be chosen by Seed World Canada’s editorial board, providing a platform for them to showcase their leading advancements in the Canadian seed sector.
