Senator Shelley Moore Capito Announces Millions in Federal Funding for Healthcare, Economic Development, and Infrastructure Projects in West Virginia

U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WVa), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, has announced resources from several federal agencies that will support various projects in West Virginia. These projects are aimed at enhancing health services, economic development, infrastructure, academic and defense research, park improvement efforts, and energy projects across the state.

One of the grants announced is $1,799,114 in Health and Human Services Health Center Cluster funding for WomenCare, Inc., located in Scott Depot. Other local agencies that will receive HHS funding include: $8,465,926 in HHS Head Start funding for the Southwestern Community Action Council, Inc. in Huntington, $7,678,870 in HHS Health Center Cluster funding for Valley Health Systems, Inc. also in Huntington and $1,229,006 in HHS Centers for Disease and Prevention National Center for Chronic Diseases Prevention and Health (CDC-NCCDPHP) National and State Tobacco Control Program for the West Virginia Department of Health and Humans Resources in Charleston.
