Senators unveil $70,000 in federal funding for Warm Springs’ regional financial improvement

Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., have announced that the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs will obtain $70,000 in federal funds for regional financial improvement. Wyden emphasized the value of investing in tribal communities to spur financial prosperity in reservations across Oregon and the nation. He stated that this federal investment will strengthen the economy of the Warm Springs Reservation and make jobs in the area, and he will continue fighting for financial sources for all tribes in the state. Senator Merkley also emphasized the value of supporting the economies of Oregon tribes, stating that this funding will enable men and women and tribal households by supporting job creation and financial improvement in the area for years to come.

The $70,000 investment comes from the Division of Commerce’s Financial Improvement Administration. This agency establishes an financial improvement organizing framework, course of action, and technique that supports private capital investment and job creation.
