The Alpena Senior Citizens Center is noticed at 501 River St.
ALPENA — Seniors will have a day complete of wellness and fitness suggestions on Wednesday at the Alpena Senior Citizens Center 501 River Street.
The senior center has partnered with MyMichigan Health’s Neighborhood Education Division and other regional specialists and educators to present a Senior Wellness and Fitness Fair from 11:30 a.m. to three p.m. on Wednesday, which is National Senior Wellness and Fitness Day.
The senior center is hosting the plan for the initially time this year.
“I’ve generally wanted to do it in the previous, so this year, we’re carrying out it,” stated BJ Sander, Alpena Senior Citizens Center plan manager.
Sander heads up senior exercising at ten a.m. each and every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning, and she stated numerous seniors have noticed fantastic benefits from participating in that class.
She added that typical exercising can strengthen balance, general physical wellness, mental wellness, and the group classes supply a social chance.
“This is a way of providing back to them for getting committed to their wellness,” Sander stated of her exercising class participants.
The cost-free occasion is open to any interested seniors.
Vendor booths will be presented by Alcona Wellness Center, Alpena Fire Division, Catholic Human Solutions, Healogics, Kindred, Michigan Division of Wellness and Human Solutions, Michigan State University Extension, MyMichigan Wellness, Northeast Michigan Neighborhood Service Agency, Thunder Bay Fyzical Therapy, Thunder Bay Transportation, and the U.S. Division of Agriculture.
