The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Hosts First-ever Regional Science Bowl

The Regional Science Bowl was held at Southeast New Mexico College with seven teams vying for the chance to showcase their knowledge in a prestigious national academic science competition. The schools that participated in the event included Carlsbad High School, Carlsbad Early College, New Mexico Military Institute, and Hobbs High School.

The competition was intense as each team displayed their expertise in various scientific fields. Despite the challenge, it was an exciting event for both participants and spectators alike. In the end, the New Mexico Military Institute team emerged victorious, consisting of two sophomores, a junior, and a senior. Their exceptional knowledge in math and science helped them secure the top spot and earn them a spot at the upcoming national competition scheduled for April 25-29.

The Regional Science Bowl serves as a platform for students to test their knowledge while also learning and growing in the field of science. It provides an opportunity for young minds to come together, share ideas, and compete in a friendly yet competitive environment.
