On Saturday, April 27th from 12-4 p.m., we invite you to join us at the Funhouse Commons for our 20th Science Fair. This highly anticipated event, which started in 2001, aims to celebrate and inspire the remarkable scientific discoveries made by young minds. After a four-year hiatus, we are thrilled to bring this cherished tradition back, refreshed and ready to rekindle excitement in our community.
All Orcas K-12 students are welcome to register their projects, and we extend a warm invitation to community members interested in showcasing their work in conservation and environmental science. If you’re interested in being a vendor or volunteering at the science fair, please contact Ryan@thefunhouse.org. Our Science Fair, with an Earth Day theme, will offer free food and drinks, live music, community displays, and of course, the incredible projects from our young participants.
Every participant will receive an award, with the top three prizes in elementary, middle, and high school categories chosen by our esteemed wandering wizards. The prestigious Richie Moore “Rocket Ship of Wonder” will be awarded to the top three best-in-show science projects. The breakdown of prizes is as follows: High School: 1st place $500, 2nd place $350, 3rd place $250. Middle School: 1st place $250, 2nd place $150, 3rd place $100. Elementary: 1st place $100, 2nd place $75
