Several individuals taken into custody following shooting incident outside St. Petersburg sports bar on Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, a shooting occurred outside a sports bar in St. Petersburg that left four individuals injured. The victims have no prior acquaintance with the assailants and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. The suspects involved are linked to rapper Rodarius Green, also known as “Rod Wave.”

The incident led to multiple arrests, with three suspects currently apprehended and two more expected to be arrested. During a press conference, Police Chief Anthony Holloway revealed that Kevontre Wesby, Keith Wesby, and Christopher Atkins were found in Manatee County. However, the remaining two suspects have not yet been identified.

Significant evidence was discovered during the investigation, including over 60 shell casings at the scene of the crime. The Young Gangsters group, or YGs, is believed to have close affiliations with Rodarius Green and reside in properties registered under his name. Authorities have also linked them to past shooting and drug trafficking investigations dating back to March 2022.

Fortunately, all four victims are expected to recover from their injuries. Chief Holloway emphasized that this incident was not an act of violence against innocent people but rather a tragic accident caused by misguided individuals who were seeking revenge for perceived wrongdoing by members of their gang. The police continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible for this incident to justice and ensure public safety for all residents of St. Petersburg and surrounding areas.
