Stellantis Agrees to Voluntary Exit of 1,520 Employees

A critical agreement has been struck between Stellantis and metalworking unions in Turin, which will see 1,520 workers from 21 group companies voluntarily exit the area. The decision was announced by Uilm, a major labor union.

Of the 1,520 employees being encouraged to depart, 733 are from central structures (managers and employees), while 300 are from the Mirafiori body shops. This move reflects the need to streamline operations and adapt to changing market conditions. According to Luigi Paone, general secretary of Uilm Turin, the high number of exits requested by Stellantis underscores the severity of the current economic climate.

Paone emphasizes the urgency of engaging with Stellantis and relevant institutions to create a comprehensive plan for Mirafiori’s future and its workforce. The ultimate goal is to establish a sustainable path for growth and prosperity that ensures long-term viability in the region. This agreement represents a significant step toward securing Stellantis’ future in Turin amidst challenging economic circumstances.
