A burglar was caught on security cameras smashing through a downtown Bakersfield business, but police were able to quickly make an arrest. The Bakersfield Police Department posted video of the burglary and arrest on social media. The incident occurred on March 28 at around 11:30 p.m. when officers were called to a burglary in progress at a business on E Street.
Upon arrival, an officer found the suspect still inside the building. Edited surveillance footage showed the suspect breaking in and appearing to take eyeglasses. At one point, the suspect noticed a camera and knocked it over. The suspect was ordered out of the building but tried to run off. However, he was quickly chased down and arrested by the officers.
