The intense heat appearing in many parts of the country has prompted this advice, with the North experiencing early heat and the South regularly reaching temperatures of 37-38 degrees Celsius. Common health problems during this season include heat stroke, heat exhaustion, and dehydration. These issues are often caused by prolonged exposure to high temperatures or sudden changes in environmental temperature. High-risk groups include the elderly, young children, pregnant women, and those who work in hot environments for extended periods. Individuals with chronic diseases are also susceptible to serious illness during hot weather.

To prevent these issues, it is recommended that people limit sun exposure, wear light-colored clothing, stay hydrated by drinking water regularly and replenishing lost minerals through beverages like oresol or sports drinks like Gatorade or Powerade), eat foods high in water content such as fruits and vegetables like cucumbers and watermelons which have high levels of water content that can help you stay hydrated throughout the day. Protective clothing such as wide brimmed hats or umbrellas can also help minimize sun exposure while working outdoors or engaging in outdoor activities during peak hours.

When working in the sun, it is important to take regular breaks every 45 minutes to an hour to prevent overheating by moving into shaded areas or taking breaks indoors if possible. By following these guidelines and taking necessary precautions, individuals can stay safe and healthy during hot weather conditions.
