Suspicious Package Prompts Business Evacuation and Road Closures in Lower Macungie; Allentown Bomb Squad Provides Assistance | Lehigh Valley Regional News

On Monday, a report of a suspicious package led to the evacuation of a business and the closure of a stretch of Route 100 in Lehigh County. The package was seen at the 8600 block of Congdonhill Drive in Lower Macungie Township at approximately 1:30 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky.

As a precaution, local roads, including Route 100 at Spring Creek Road, have been closed by Branosky. The Ryder Logistics warehouse, where the package was reported, has been evacuated.

The Allentown Bomb Squad was called to Congdon Hill Drive to assist in the investigation by state police shortly before 2 p.m., according to Capt. John Christopher of the Allentown Fire Department.
