Former World Champion Mike Tyson to Face Jake Paul in Exhibition Boxing Match

In a surprising twist, former world champion Mike Tyson has announced that his upcoming boxing match against YouTuber Jake Paul will not be an official fight but rather an exhibition bout. Tyson, who last competed professionally in 2005, will face Paul in Texas just three weeks after his 58th birthday. Despite being labeled as an exhibition, the fight will not follow traditional exhibition rules but rather it will be a true battle between the two competitors.

In contrast to Tyson’s experience, Paul is only 27 years old and recently won his 10th professional fight against Ryan Bourland. The upcoming contest between the two has generated significant interest among fans and boxing enthusiasts alike. The event will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home to the Dallas Cowboys and will be broadcast live on Netflix.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation outlined the rules for exhibition bouts, including the use of larger gloves, two-minute rounds, and no official winner being declared. While some may view this as a non-competitive event, both fighters are eager to showcase their skills on this new platform.

Tyson had an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr., which further fueled his excitement for this upcoming match with Paul. Despite Paul’s success in previous boxing matches, Tyson remains confident that he can outperform him come fight night. The former heavyweight champion had a remarkable career securing 50 wins before retiring but faced legal troubles that saw him serve prison time in the 1990s.

As fans eagerly anticipate this exciting showdown between a seasoned veteran and a rising star in the ring, the countdown to July 20 begins.
