UHS Gets Ready to Surpass Expectations on April 8 with “Eclipse” Event

The 2024 Solar Eclipse is an exciting event that everyone should experience. That’s why the University Health Service is closing its doors for one hour in the afternoon on April 8, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. During this time, Dr. Ethan Beaudett, our Medical Chief, will be on-call to handle any urgent calls received by our answering service.

If you’re looking to witness this momentous event safely and responsibly, Professor James Zavislan, an expert in optics, biomedical engineering, and ophthalmology, recommends using eclipse glasses. These glasses protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful light during a solar eclipse and prevent any potential long-term damage to your vision.

You can obtain up to two pairs of eclipse glasses with a University ID from locations on the River Campus and at the Eastman School of Music before the total solar eclipse. So grab your glasses and enjoy this incredible natural phenomenon safely!
