Trump’s Massive Deportation Plan: What It Means for the 2024 Presidential Election

If re-elected, Trump plans to conduct mass deportations

During a rally in South Carolina, former US President Donald Trump announced his plans for massive deportations if he is re-elected. He stated, “From day one I will support the entire open borders policy of the Biden administration and we will begin the largest national deportation operation in the history of the United States.” Trump emphasized that there is no other choice and called the rejection of the legislative package a great victory for conservatives.

The legislative package worth $118 billion failed in the US Senate due to resistance from Republicans. The package included changes to immigration policy and a compromise negotiated between Democrats and Republicans that linked foreign aid to US border security. However, Trump rejected this package and put pressure on his fellow Republicans to let it fail.

As a result, the upper house is now considering a package that completely decouples foreign aid from border policy. Despite this, Trump remains committed to using border policy as a campaign issue in the upcoming presidential election, indicating that he has no intention of changing his stance on this issue.
