The Impact of Women’s Scientific Contributions on Advancing Human Knowledge

Women scientists have been instrumental in the development of human knowledge, yet their contributions have often gone unrecognized throughout history. In order to recognize and promote the importance of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), the United Nations designated February 11 as International Women’s and Human Rights Day. The ninth assembly of this commemoration took place at the UN headquarters in New York, where women leaders and science experts from around the world gathered to address their key role in achieving sustainable development.

In celebration of this event, The Conference published a series of interviews with women scientists from various generations as a form of recognition. These women shared their experiences and the challenges they faced in their respective fields. From mathematicians to physicists to biologists, these women have made significant contributions to the world of science.

The Conference also spoke with young girls who are interested in pursuing careers in science, highlighting the importance of encouraging and supporting girls in STEM fields. Women scientists in Mexico find one of their most emblematic exponents in the figure of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, who was a pioneer in the history of science.

Throughout history, women have played an exceptional role in various areas of science
