Unveiling the Mystery of the Happiest Country in the World

Finland has been named the world’s happiest country for the seventh year in a row, according to the World Happiness Report. This report, established by the United Nations in 2012, promotes sustainable development goals. In a survey where participants rated their lives on a scale from one to ten, Finland scored 7.7 and secured its top spot. Scandinavian countries dominated the list while the United States and Germany fell out of the top 20.

One of the reasons behind Finland’s happiness is its strong commitment to gender equality and women’s rights. Finland was the first country in the world to grant women full voting and parliamentary rights in 1906. The Finnish capital, Helsinki, was also ranked as the most honest city in a citizens’ honesty test conducted by Reader’s Digest. Additionally, Transparency International ranks Finland as one of the least corrupt countries after Denmark.

The Finnish government’s policies on education, healthcare, and family support are also significant factors that contribute to citizens’ happiness levels. The Finnish education system is renowned worldwide, and they offer universal healthcare coverage. However, some believe that Finns’ emphasis on sauna culture plays a crucial role in their contentment as well. With over three million saunas nationwide, Finland has a sauna for every two residents. Saunas are an integral part of Finnish culture and can be found in all government buildings.

An exhibition hosted by the Finnish embassy in Berlin titled “Die Sauna: Echt heiss – Echt finnisch.” showcases this unique cultural tradition through photos and videos while providing an authentic sauna experience for visitors.

In conclusion, Finland’s high levels of happiness can be attributed to its commitment to gender equality, trustworthiness, low corruption rates, strong educational system, universal healthcare coverage, and love for saunas.
