USTA becomes the first national governing body to partner with White House Sports and Nutrition Committee

In a significant announcement at the Miami Open, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) revealed its partnership with the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition (PCSFN), making it the first national sports governing body to collaborate with the council. The event was attended by guests from the White House, including second gentleman Douglas Emhoff.

The PCSFN, founded in 1956, is a federal advisory committee focused on promoting nutrition and physical activity. Through this collaboration, USTA and PCSFN aim to bring national health and nutrition programs to communities where tennis is played. Emhoff emphasized the impact of this partnership on real lives, praising USTA’s commitment to improving health and wellness across the country. He expressed gratitude for USTA’s efforts and highlighted the Biden-Harris administration’s dedication to addressing issues like hunger and promoting healthy communities.

By working together, USTA and PCSFN hope to make a significant difference in improving health and wellness across the nation. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing nutrition, physical activity, and overall well-being in communities where sports like tennis are enjoyed. With support from organizations like USTA and dedicated leaders like those in the Biden-Harris Administration, progress can continue to be made in promoting healthier lifestyles for Americans.
