West Branch third baseman Beau Alazaus drove in four runs to lead his team to a 10-0 victory over Minerva on Wednesday at Carl Michael Field. In a dominating performance, Alazaus had two hits, including a two-run single in the fourth inning and a two-run double in the sixth.

Hunter Shields also contributed with two hits and three runs scored, while senior Jaxon Robb, playing his first game since freshman year, went 2-for-2 with two runs after receiving medical clearance earlier in the day. Anthony Perry earned the win on the mound for West Branch, pitching a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks.

West Branch scored single runs in the first three innings, with Shields scoring on a wild pitch in the first and Charlie Biskup walking and eventually scoring on a fielder’s choice in the second. Biskup and Boston Mulinix both had two stolen bases in the game. Minerva’s Brayden Wood went 2-for-3 at the plate but took the loss on the mound, giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits in three-plus innings.

The Warriors are now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, while Minerva falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the EBC. West Branch will face Marlington next Tuesday as they look to continue their winning streak. The final score of the game was Minerva 0, West Branch 10.
