San Francisco: IT main Wipro has laid off at least 120 personnel in the state of Florida, the US, due to a “realignment of business enterprise requires”.

The corporation detailed the layoffs in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed with the Florida Division of Financial Chance, reports Channel Futures.

The job cuts by Wipro are at only a single place in Tampa.

“Much more than one hundred of the impacted personnel are processing agents. The rest are group leaders and a group manager,” the report talked about.

In a statement, Wipro mentioned this is an isolated incident.

“Wipro remains deeply committed to the area. And all other Wipro personnel serving consumers in the Tampa region stay unaffected,” the corporation told the publication.

The layoffs, which are permanent, will get started in May possibly, according to the report.

The Indian IT main announced the opening of its Americas headquarters in East Brunswick, New Jersey, earlier this month.

Wipro has about 20,500 personnel situated across the United States, Canada and LATAM (Mexico and Brazil).

In India, Wipro in January laid off much more than 400 fresher personnel for poor functionality in internal assessment tests.

At a time when the job marketplace is hit by increasing layoffs, Wipro has also written to fresh recruits who have been presented Rs six.five lakh per annum, asking if they would be in a position to perform for Rs three.five lakh per annum.
