The Women’s Sweet 16 is underway, and USA Today Sports’ Tony Anderson previews some of the top matchups that fans are eagerly looking forward to. The four top seeds in the women’s NCAA Tournament are still in contention, with South Carolina set to face Indiana and Texas taking on Gonzaga on Friday.
South Carolina, the undefeated top seed, has had a dominant run to the Sweet 16, but Indiana has shown strength with their high field goal percentage and strong defense. Gonzaga, who also advanced in the men’s tournament, will face a Texas team playing without key players. Freshman Madison Booker has been impressive in her debut tournament.
Notre Dame and Oregon State will face off in the opening game of the Sweet 16 on Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET. The tournament will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC. The schedule for Friday’s games includes Notre Dame vs. Oregon State, South Carolina vs. Indiana, Stanford vs. NC State, and Texas vs. Gonzaga.
