It’s not often to see players from the Ivy League announcing their intention to enter the NFL Draft as the college season comes to an end. However, Yale tackle Kiran Amegadjie has bucked this trend by announcing on Monday that he will be entering the 2024 draft.
Amegadjie played right guard as a freshman and moved to left tackle in 2022. He was an All-Ivy first-team selection, but his 2023 season was cut short by a quad injury that required surgery. Despite this setback, Amegadjie’s talent and potential have caught the attention of NFL scouts. In October, Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy said that his staff ranked Amegadjie as the only player below the top division of college football with a chance to be selected on the second day of the draft.
While his inability to do on-field work leading up to the draft could impact his ultimate spot, Amegadjie seems likely to hear his name called at some point. It’s worth monitoring his progress and seeing where he ultimately ends up in the draft.
