Andrea McLaughlin, who has been serving as the interim Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital since January 2024, has recently been appointed to the permanent position. With over 20 years of experience in the nursing field, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.
McLaughlin’s career in nursing has seen her progress from bedside care to nursing leadership. Her clinical background includes working in correctional facilities, emergency medicine, medicine-surgery progressive care, and ambulatory care settings. In addition to her clinical work, she has also been involved in teaching the next generation of healthcare professionals as a faculty member at Brightpoint Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Nursing.
