Nic Angell, an author and illustrator based in Gloucestershire, originally created the successful adventure book series called Colostle in 2022. The latest edition of the series takes readers underground into massive dungeons where they must fight to survive. Angell expressed his excitement about expanding the game and not just increasing the scope and potential of the world, but also changing how the game is played.

Colostle is a solo roleplaying game where readers journal about their experiences, powered by a standard deck of cards. The cards drawn determine which rooms and creatures players encounter during their adventure. Angell described the game as a part game, part creative-writing exercise and enjoys hearing about players’ adventures and ideas within the world he created.

The latest dungeon expansion of the Colostle series has been released to Angell’s loyal fans who support him through an online subscription service. He shared that the feedback on the new expansion has been positive and that he releases each chapter sequentially to patrons before the wider world sees it in a book.

Looking ahead, Angell hopes to bring the world of Colostle to television or cinema, considering the success of the book series. He expressed his enthusiasm about the possibility of his creation being showcased on the screen and eagerly awaiting the opportunity to be involved in making it happen.
