The fire broke out on the 1200 block of Old Trolley Road in Summerville, South Carolina early Sunday morning. The incident was a commercial fire and although there were no signs of fire from the outside, crews encountered smoke and heat upon entry, indicating a fire was present. They were able to locate and control the fire in less than five minutes. However, neighboring businesses suffered smoke and water damage as a result.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety in commercial properties. Chief Fire Marshal Jeremiah Lee stated that authorities closed Old Trolley Road at Beverly Drive around 4:30 a.m. while Summerville Fire & Rescue responded to the call. The road was reopened just before 7 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and it’s important for business owners to take necessary measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. It’s crucial for everyone to be aware of potential hazards and take steps to mitigate them before they become an issue.
