5K run generates funds for children’s mental health

On Saturday, Columbus, Ohio was graced with perfect weather for a run, and nearly 2,000 people participated in the On Our Sleeves 5K event for a good cause. The race took place at the Columbus Crew’s Lower.com Field and was a community run and walk aimed at raising awareness, breaking stigmas, and fundraising for children’s mental health through On Our Sleeves.

The funds raised from the event will contribute to providing free mental health resources through the foundation. It is important to continue discussing mental health and breaking the stigmas associated with it, as emphasized by Whitney Raglin Bignall, the associate clinical director for Nationwide Children’s Hospital. By raising awareness and funds, individuals can come together to support the cause and help provide essential mental health resources.

Since 2018, over 6 million individuals across the United States have benefitted from the free pediatric mental health education resources offered by On Our Sleeves. To learn more about the organization and how to get involved, visit their website.
