His extensive knowledge in the field, including the recent creation of xAI, led him to forecast that AI models will surpass human intelligence by the end of 2025.

Musk also predicted that the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI) is not far off, which is even more alarming than generative AI. He emphasized the rapid advancements in both hardware and software dedicated to AI, noting that the growth curve is accelerating at an unprecedented rate.

His predictions align with those of Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, a company that has played a major role in AI development through its chips. Huang believes that AI will exceed human intelligence within the next five years. However, the demand for dedicated hardware has caused shortages that have slowed down progress in this field.

During the interview, Musk also discussed the development of Grok, his AI model, and revealed plans to release a second version of Grok in May that will outperform GPT-4. He mentioned that Grok will be offered to all X Premium subscribers as part of a strategy to boost subscriptions on his social network.
