The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is set to debut a temporary exhibit in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month. The exhibit, which runs from May 1 to May 31, will be located in the museum’s Periodic Hall and showcase the contributions, scientific achievements, and impact of AAPI scientists and engineers.

Among the individuals featured in the exhibit are microbiologist Yee Ching Wong-Staal, known for her work in AIDS research, and Ellison Onizuka, the first person of Japanese descent to fly in space. These scientists have enriched our nation and serve as inspiration for future generations.

According to Jennifer Hayden, president and CEO of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, the museum is honored to highlight the achievements and contributions of these outstanding individuals. In a news release, she stated that these scientists have made significant contributions to society and hope that the exhibit will inspire new role models for future generations.

Meanwhile, local news reports that the Albuquerque water authority has proposed raising utility rates.
