Jimmies softball team splits doubleheader with Doane – Jamestown Sun

The University of Jamestown faced Doane University in a doubleheader, starting with a 2-1 win for the Jimmies over the Tigers at the Nelson Family Bubble on Friday, April 19. The Tigers took an early lead with a sacrifice fly by Anna Prauner that scored Jeryn Allen, putting them up 1-0. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Jimmies responded when Mackenzie Lefebvre hit a double to drive in two runners, giving them a 2-1 lead.

After allowing a run in the sixth inning, Hope Ransome of the Jimmies retired four of the next five hitters. Ransome pitched a complete game, giving up only one run on four hits while striking out six and walking two. On the Tigers’ side, Abbi Arroyo started the game and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing one earned run on five hits, with one walk and one strikeout. Stay tuned for the full story on this matchup.
