The World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships will be held on a 2km looping course near the Antalya Expo Centre, with the start and finish lines located in front of the Expo 2016 Botanical Park. Several Indian athletes have already met the Paris Olympics qualifying standard in the men’s and women’s 20km race walk, including Akshdeep Singh, Vikash Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Suraj Panwar, Servin Sebastian, Arshpreet Singh, and Priyanka Goswami.
These athletes will be in action at the championships, with Suraj Panwar, Ram Baboo, Vikash Singh, Servin Sebastian, and Arshpreet Singh competing in the men’s team 20km race walk, and Manju Rani, Payal, Pooja Kumawat, Mokavi Muthurathinam, and Ramandeep Kaur competing in the women’s 20km race walk. The event will also provide an opportunity for more Indian athletes to meet the Olympic entry standards in the 20km races.
While no Indians are competing in the junior men’s and women’s 10km race walk events in Antalya, viewers in India can watch the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships live on the Live Stream Inside Track on the World Athletics website. The events will start at 9:30 AM IST and will not be telecast live on any TV channel in India.
The schedule for the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships in 2024 is as follows:
– Men’s 20km Race Walk on April 21 at 11:40 AM IST
– Women’s 20km Race Walk on April 21 at 1:35 PM IST
– Marathon Race Walk Mixed Relay on April 21 at 3:25 PM IST
The India squad for the championships includes the men’s team of Suraj Panwar, Ram Baboo, Vikash Singh, Servin Sebastian, and Arshpreet Singh, the women’s team of Manju Rani, Payal, Pooja Kumawat, Mokavi Muthurathinam, and Ramandeep Kaur, and the mixed relay teams of Priyanka Goswami-Akshdeep Singh and Munita Prajapati-Paramjeet Singh.
