In a thrilling softball game between Ole Miss and Southern Miss at the Ole Miss Softball Complex, Angelina DeLeon and Lexie Brady led their team to a 7-3 victory. Brady hit her 13th home run of the season, which was the third most by a player in a single season in program history. Meanwhile, DeLeon hit her second home run of the season and had a two-hit night.
Grace Sparks pitched well, striking out five batters over 3.2 innings to improve her record to 6-1. Brianna Lopez finished the game to secure the win for the Rebels.
In an intense first inning, Southern Miss scored first, but Ole Miss quickly responded with three runs to take the lead. After tying things up in the second inning, Sparks entered the game and pitched effectively to keep things even. The Rebels broke through with two runs in the fourth inning thanks to hits from DeLeon and Ryan Starr, with Lassiter delivering a two-run single that put Ole Miss ahead 5-3.
DeLeon added another run with a two-run home run in the sixth inning, making it 7-3 for Ole Miss. With Lopez closing out strong in the seventh inning, Ole Miss secured their victory over Southern Miss. The Rebels are set to play Auburn on April 26-28 for Senior Weekend.
