Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin will reportedly not be renewed at NFL Network following expected budget cuts and changes, according to the New York Post. Irvin, 58, joined NFL Network as an analyst in 2009 and was featured on GameDay Morning. He also contributes to FS1’s Undisputed.
In February 2023, Irvin was pulled from Super Bowl week coverage after a harassment accusation, but returned after settling a defamation lawsuit against Marriott Hotels. Reports in April 2023 indicated he remained suspended and would not be part of NFL Network’s NFL Draft coverage. Irvin later filed a lawsuit against a woman for false accusations that could have hurt his career, suggesting ongoing absence may have merit.
The lawsuit, filed in February, suggests Irvin may be a victim of ‘cancel culture’. Other sports headlines include Jason Whitlock’s comments on LeBron James’ narcissism, Colin Cowherd’s 2024 NFL standings predictions, and speculation about the Pittsburgh Steelers using Justin Fields in a new position. LeBron James’ playoff struggles, future plans, and Dave & Buster’s new betting policy also make headlines.
