Online School Partnership between Palantir and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine

Ukraine is facing a crisis in education due to the ongoing conflict. As a result, many students are relying on online learning instead of attending school in person. This has led to significant challenges for the education system and has resulted in educational setbacks for children. In response, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has partnered with Palantir to introduce new technology aimed at providing 300,000 more pupils with safe access to schools.

Under this partnership, Palantir will develop software tooling that will help target funding for school bomb shelters where it will have the greatest impact on the safety of children and young people. The 100% offline initiative is a response to the rise in online education in Ukraine following Russia’s illegal invasion. Research shows that more than 40% of children in Ukraine are now relying on online or hybrid learning, leading to educational setbacks. According to the PISA-2022 survey, Ukrainian students are lagging behind the required level of study by 1.5 to 2.5 years.

The goal of this partnership is to address these challenges and ensure that more children have access to safe in-person learning. By leveraging new technology, the aim is to improve the education system in Ukraine and help students catch up on the lost learning due to the ongoing conflict. The ultimate aim is to create a better future for the next generation of Ukrainian students.
