The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program is an initiative that supports outstanding graduate students in STEM disciplines pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited U.S. institutions. The program offers a five-year fellowship that includes three years of financial support, with an annual stipend of $34,000 and a cost of education allowance of $12,000 to the institution.

Recently, seven students and alumni from the University of Missouri (MU) were selected for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program, while five others received honorable mention. Among the recipients are individuals pursuing a variety of disciplines such as mechanical engineering, wildlife and fisheries science, neuroscience, biochemistry, biological sciences, and chemical engineering. Honorable mentions were given to those studying psychology, pathobiology, plant, insect and microbial sciences, biological sciences, and human development and family science.

The program aims to recognize and support outstanding graduate students in STEM fields by providing financial assistance and opportunities for furthering research and academic pursuits. This year’s selection represents the diverse range of STEM disciplines that attract top talent from across the country to pursue advanced degrees at MU.
