Six organizations have been chosen by North Dakota Health and Human Services to receive funding for its suicide prevention initiative. These groups, including Minot State University’s Center for Persons with Disabilities, Peer Vision for Mental Health, Haugen Performance Consulting, Eyes on the Horizon Consulting, Consensus Council, and Cook Center for Human Connection, will provide support to individuals struggling with mental health issues.

Melissa Markegard, the suicide prevention administrator for HHS, emphasized the importance of early intervention in preventing suicide. She stated that everyone shares the common goal of reducing and ultimately eliminating suicide in North Dakota.
