Skytrax names this airport as the cleanest in the world

Tokyo’s Haneda Airport has been named the cleanest airport in the world according to the Skytrax World Airport Awards. The organization recognized Haneda for its cleanliness, including the floors, seating, public areas, and restrooms. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, airport cleanliness has become a top priority for travelers, and airports that maintain the highest standards are well-regarded.

In addition to being named the cleanest airport in the world, Haneda was also ranked as the fourth best overall airport by Skytrax. The top 10 cleanest airports were dominated by Asia, with nine of them in the region. Japan had four airports on the list, including Centrair Nagoya, Tokyo Narita, and Kansai. The top spots were rounded out by Seoul Incheon, Singapore Changi, Doha Hamad, Hong Kong, Taiwan Taoyuan, and Switzerland’s Zurich.

Skytrax also named the top cleanest airport in each region, with Vancouver in North America, Quito in South America, Juan Santamaría in Central America and the Caribbean, Cape Town in Africa, Brisbane in Australia/Pacific, Shanghai Hongqiao in China, Baku in Central Asia, and Bangalore in India and South Asia. The overall winners also topped their regional categories: Tokyo Haneda in Asia, Zurich in Europe, and Doha Hamad in the Middle East.

Airports around the world are prioritizing cleanliness due to the large number of passengers they serve each year. The Skytrax World Airport Awards have been recognizing excellence in airports for 25 years, based on customer satisfaction surveys in multiple languages from travelers worldwide.
