Solving Environmental Challenges: Trine University Launches New Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science Degree Program

Trine University is launching a new Bachelor of Science in environmental science degree program, drawing on its strengths in the sciences and engineering. The program aims to provide students with the necessary skills to understand and address the environmental challenges facing the planet. With classes set to begin in August, students will have the opportunity to study under experienced faculty and gain hands-on experience through fieldwork and research projects.

The Bachelor of Science in environmental science will be offered through Trine’s Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in various fields related to the environment, law, health and safety, or public policy. Lexie Staten, Dean of the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences, emphasizes that the program focuses on examining and improving the health of the planet and its inhabitants.

Graduates from this program are poised for success in a variety of industries, including governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, or private companies as environmental or conservation scientists, environmental educators, lawyers, environmental policy analysts, or environmental health and safety specialists. With job growth predicted above average in this field over the next decade by the Bureau of Labor Services, Trine graduates can look forward to employment opportunities upon completion of their studies.

Trine University has a strong track record of offering programs that lead to employment opportunities for graduates. Over the past 11 years, more than 99 percent of Trine graduates have been employed or in graduate school within six months of commencement.
