During Thursday’s Section VI Division 1 flag football game against West Seneca West, Jamestown’s Ella Propheter celebrated with her teammates. Head coach Steve Propheter mentioned that the team had some challenges in the air during the game. Despite this, the team’s performance overall was good. Ella Propheter played a significant role in the victory, rushing for 61 yards, scoring a touchdown, converting two two-point conversions, and returning an interception for a 64-yard score. The Red & Green team improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the division after a 20-6 win.
Kaylee Leeper also contributed to the team’s success by adding 61 yards on the ground, scoring a touchdown, and a one-point conversion. She also broke up five passes and had four flag pulls. Kendall Wilson led the defense with seven flag pulls, including four sacks, while Chryssa Wahl and Abbie Brandow added four flag pulls.
The team will return to action on Monday when they face Lancaster. It was a pitcher’s duel in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East softball game in Forestville.
