The Titans made a strong first-round pick by selecting JC Latham, an offensive tackle who is expected to start right away. Latham’s talent shows promise, and his ability to play the left tackle position in the NFL will be closely watched. Although the Titans may have reached with some of their later picks, landing Cedric Gray in the fourth round has the potential to be a steal for the team. However, overall, the draft class lacks excitement unless T’Vondre Sweat can develop into a pass rusher.
Favorite pick of the draft was JC Latham, who was originally considered for the fifth overall pick. Latham’s talents in the run game and protection will be an asset to the team alongside Will Levis, Calvin Ridley, and DeAndre Hopkins. This was a solid pick that addressed needs for the Titans without overcomplicating the decision.
On the opposite end, the least favorite pick was T’Vondre Sweat, a defensive tackle from Texas. Despite being a massive run stuffer, Sweat lacks pass rush abilities for the NFL level, making his value questionable for an early second-round pick. If Sweat can make adjustments and become a three-down player, this pick may pay off in the long run.
In addition to Latham and Sweat, the Titans selected Cedric Gray, Jarvis Brownlee Jr., Jha’Quan Jackson, James Williams, and Jaylen Harrell in later rounds of the draft. Each of these players will have to prove themselves and show their value to the team in the upcoming season.
