Three Silver Bluff athletes commit to college athletic programs | Local Sports

Bing is a multi-sport athlete at Silver Bluff, participating in girls’ basketball, cheer, track and field, and more. She values the importance of always working towards goals both in and out of the classroom. Bing will pursue a degree in biology at Livingstone College. She prioritizes staying engaged in various activities and maintaining her athleticism. Bing credits her athletic family for instilling her love for sports and engaging in physical activities to stay in shape.

Expressing her fondness for the community at Silver Bluff, Bing explains why she chose Livingstone College. She appreciates the HBCU environment, where she will be surrounded by individuals similar to her. Bing looks forward to recreating the supportive community she has at Silver Bluff. Coach Shauna Barfield praised Bing’s selflessness as an athlete, noting her dedication to the relay team despite no prior experience. Bing’s decision to focus on team events instead of individual competitions helped her team place second at the state championship.

Meanwhile, Walker fulfilled a long-time ambition by signing with Limestone College to continue his track and field career. He spoke about the sacrifices and dedication he put into his training to achieve his dream. Walker reflected on the discipline required to forgo social events and focus on his athletic pursuits, which led him to the next level of competition.
