Top Athletes in Somerset County for Spring Sports May 6-11

In Monday’s baseball action, Somerset defeated Richland 18-5 with a strong performance from Callen Miller who recorded five hits, including a home run and five RBIs. Lane Lambert also had a big game with two hits, including a home run and five RBIs. Carter Dunmyer added three hits, and Braeden Flower struck out 10 over six innings. Conemaugh Township secured a 7-5 victory over Cambria Heights thanks to Larry Weaver’s two hits, including a home run and two RBIs. D.J. Bambino drove in two runs, while Luke Weber and Brennan Lohr each contributed two hits for Conemaugh Township. Windber defeated Ferndale 12-2 in six innings, with Lucas Oleksa hitting a 3-run home run and tallying four RBIs. Lucas Rummel and Nathan Betcher also had strong performances for Windber. Despite a 10-2 loss to Hancock, Turkeyfoot Valley saw Bryce Nicholson with two hits and Gavin Culp with an RBI single.
