A 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago on Thursday. The incident occurred after she became separated from her group while exploring the museum located on 5700 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
On Saturday, authorities issued a community alert stating that the girl was approached by a suspect who offered to help her find her group. The child was then taken to the museum’s second floor and asked to use the restroom, where the assault took place.
While in the restroom, the suspect entered the room and crawled under the stall door, inappropriately touching the child. The girl reacted by kicking towards the suspect, causing him to flee from the restroom.
The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 30 to 40, weighing 160 to 180 pounds, with a height between 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 3 inches. He has curly, light brown hair, a beard, and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck.
