Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has reassured fans and the Colts nation that he is in good health and firmly in control of the franchise. Irsay recently spoke out to clarify details surrounding a medical episode that occurred late last year, which led to rumors of an overdose. However, Irsay strongly denied this claim and stated that police had responded to a call from his home in Carmel on December 8, where he was reportedly treating a serious hematoma resulting from a leg injury.
Despite undergoing surgery on his back and leg, Irsay has been unable to attend the team headquarters for this week’s NFL Draft due to his ongoing health issues. Nonetheless, he plans to remotely participate using technology to be present in the draft room and provide input on player selections. The Colts are holding the No. 15 overall pick and have not ruled out the possibility of moving up to select Marvin Harrison Jr., the son of Colts Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison. However, Irsay acknowledges the challenges of such a move due to the draft capital that would need to be given up.
